- The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Hawaii Volcano Observatory, Hawaii has a requirement to (1) upgrade the communication connectivity between the existing radio building and the computer room in the main office building with multi-mode fiber cable, (2) upgrade the communication connectivity between the radio building and the UWE instrument vault with multi-mode fiber cable and copper cable in a 2" conduit; and (3) replace the direct-burial electric lines with new lines between the radio building and the UWE instrument vault in a 3" conduit. In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the 'Act'), Public Law 111-5, this notice is provided for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), intends to issue a task order by using the Department of the Interior's Design-Build, Construction and Construction Services Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC) issued by the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). The three Western United States contractors will be solicited. This opportunity is only available to the incumbent FWS MATOC contractors. The original awards were made on competitive basis. Full funding for requirements to be completed by the contractor will utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements, is required.
