Description: Newport Chemical Depot (NECD) is seeking a contractor to provide Maintenance, Janitorial, Security, Surveillance, and Safety services to maintain buildings and facilities and to support other on-site activities at NECD. This Statement of Work (SOW) is being issued as a DRAFT only. At this time NECD estimates that the period of performance for this effort will be for the base period of 6 months with two 3 month evaluated options until such time as the facility will be disposed of under the Base Realignment And Closure Act of 2005. The six month base period (1 Jul 10 31 Dec 10) is required to dispose of the remaining excess explosive contaminated equipment and stock, for the sale of property to be finalized, and the ownership of the property to be conveyed to the new owner(s). NECD seeks a response from firms that are capable of performing the work described in the DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS), dated 05 Jan 2010, document attached. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain an indication of interest of all businesses, determine any interest from the small business community, and obtain voluntary limited capability information of those interested sources. A determination by the Government on the method of competing this requirement has not been made. Information provided for this Sources Sought Notice is strictly voluntary. No solicitation document exists at this time. Furthermore, the attached SOW does not constitute a complete solicitation or imply that a complete solicitation will be submitted at a later date. No legal liability on the part of the Government exists for payment of any money for the performance of work requested by this sources sought notice. The Government will take into consideration all responses issued by the above deadline. Based on the SOW responses that the Government receives for this Sources Sought Notice, the Government may issue a final CONTRACT at a later date. Electronic Submissions are preferred.
