Description
The VA Medical Center in Coatesville, PA is seeking professional A/E services for the complete working drawings, cost estimate, technical reports, specifications and construction period services for Environmental Controls SPD Phase I Project No. 542-08-114. The AE shall review the program materials furnished by the VA and all prior submissions to ascertain the requirements of the phases of the work and shall prepare Design Development Documents of the highest professional quality within the firm's capability illustrating the scale and relationship of project components for review and approval by VA. The consultant shall provide all architectural and engineering services as defined to accomplish complete contract drawings, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates for the following work: Environmental Controls SPD Phase I: The purpose of this project is to bring Coatesville VA Medical Center sterile medical supplies storage closets into compliance with VA Handbook 7176 Part 10 Section 3.1003 regarding minimum and maximum temperature and humidity. A/E is required to evaluate storage closets and develop a list of recommended compliance solutions for each of the closets. After VA agrees on the best course of action, the A/E shall prepare design plans and specifications for construction/installation of selected solutions. Solutions may include, but are not limited to: Relocation of redesign of existing space to better utilize existing HVAC; Upgrading or replacing existing HVAC systems; etc. There are approximately 35 existing sterile medical supplies storage closets throughout the Medical Center with floor space ranging from approximately 20 to 150 square feet for single closets. A/E services to include: site investigation and design development; working drawings & specifications; drawings and specifications; cost estimates; construction period services; site visits; and IH services. A/E will provide 50% design submission, 90% design submission, and final submission. The work shall meet all applicable VA design criteria and construction standards. The estimated construction budget is between $250,000 and $500,000. The area of consideration for this acquisition is restricted to firms within a 150 mile radius of the VA Medical Center in Coatesville. Interested firms must submit two (2) copies of SF330 with appropriate documentation to Contracting Officer 542/90C, VAMC, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320 by close of business, March 15, 2010. NAICS 541330 applies. This is not a request for proposals. This procurement is set aside 100% for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business.
