- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood the FBO is a single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access the information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Virginia, 22448-5110, plans to procure on a sole source basis from Kongsberg Maritime Simulation LTD. 70 Essex Street, West Mystic, CT 06388-0180. (D&B# 796612869) the following Item 0001: Annual software and hardware maintenance to Government owned Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) simulator which utilizes the Kongsberg Polaris Ship Handling Simulator, see attached statement of work. Kongsberg is the manufacturer, designer, developer and the owner of the enabling software of the 7 meter rigid hull inflatable boat simulator and therefore the only company that can provide the maintenance to the simulator. The period of performance will be 12 months starting from the date of award. These items will be acquired utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR 13). The closing date will be 03 March 2010; the anticipated award date is 08 March 2010. THE GOVERNEMENT WILL NOT ISSUE A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR SOLICITATION AS A RESULT OF THIS NOTICE.
