- Mediterranean Facilities Maintenance Requirement Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10, the Department of Defense Dependents Schools-Europe (DoDDS-Europe) Procurement Division is currently conducting market research to assess the availability of sources for a proposed maintenance contract(s). The Government seeks to identify potential responsible sources with the applicable background, resources, infrastructure, and operational experience in Facilities Maintenance throughout the countries of Italy, Spain, Azores Island (Portugal), and Turkey. This includes but limited to include all matters pertaining to work identification, performance of services, quality control, maintaining and reporting on progress and completion dates, employee hiring, orientation and training, installation passes, efficient utilization, sub contractor payment and administration, and establishment and maintenance of performance records. All work performed shall comply with applicable U.S. and "in country" construction codes. The Contractor shall furnish all equipment necessary to perform all work under this proposed contract. Areas of a defined amount of space for equipment storage and office space will be provided. Services include the following: Routine building maintenance Routine grounds maintenance Routine custodial services Project work Non Routine building/grounds maintenance Specifically, the contractor shall provide Custodial Services and Non-Routine Custodial Services. Non routine custodial services are priced separately and provided after normal school hours. Lunchroom Service includes set up all needed tables, wipe down tables between lunch shifts and after the last shift, break down tables, sweep and mop floors. Maintain grounds and landscaped areas within school boundaries to include area within one meter outside boundary fences that are on school property. Provide clearing of ice and snow from designated walkways, steps and parking areas. Inspect, maintain and repair the Exterior Site Work systems and components. Minor Construction includes the alteration of real property. Examples include but are not limited to services required for addition to, alteration, expansion, extension, reconstruction, or conversion of an existing facility; the installation of or relocation of existing facilities or installed equipment; the adjustment to the interior arrangement or other physical characteristics of an existing facility; and land work such as excavation, fill, and exterior landscaping.
