Description
RECOVERY - Amendment No. 3 - DESCRIPTION OF CHANGES 1. In Section J.3 - Final Plans Phase I Drawings: Remove Drawing 2 of 41 and replace with Revised Drawing 2 of 41 Revised - Estimated Quantities Sheet and Amend the PLAN NOTES found in Drawing No. 4 of 41 and 5 of 41 to reflect the following information: Topsoil should reflect incidental to the bid item for the unclassified borrow. There is no undercut ignore note. There is no new permanent signs ignore note.2. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS (Provided solely For Information Only to all plan holders). Question: Salvage & Stockpile of Existing Asphalt Surfacing & Base Material - the plans call for removing the existing pavement & base, then stockpiling and replacing on the roadway. There is no sub grade preparation or grading of the existing roadbed, so we would propose traditional cold in-place recycling of the existing pavement & base after the roadbed has been widened, and then reshape the salvaged base material on the widened roadway. This would eliminate hauling the salvaged material into a stockpile and back onto the roadway. It doesn't seem reasonable to remove all this base & pavement material from the existing roadway if there is not work to be done on the sub grade. Answer: Salvaged material is not to be placed upon the existing surface after removal as some may be contaminated and calls for a site by approval of COR and contractor, which will be a place the Tribe wishes to store it. Therefore there can be no in place cold recycling.
