Description
DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS (VA) COMPETITION FOR EXISTING LEASE LOCATION The VA currently occupies 8,773 net usable square feet of space at 9605 Scranton Road, Suite 100 in San Diego, CA 92121 as general office space. The lease expires on February 14th, 2012. VA is considering renegotiating the term of the lease for a new five-year (5) firm to begin no later than July 1, 2010; and is conducting a competition for alternative space and will relocate if advantageous to the Government. The cost of moving, alterations, and other factors will be considered when determining whether to relocate. The space must be on no more than one contiguous floor, and provide a minimum of 8,773 NUSF and up to 10,000 NUSF of space. On-site parking for a minimum of 70 vehicles is required. A lease for up to 5 years will be considered. Occupancy required by July 1, 2010. To be considered, space must be within or bordering a delineated area as follows: South - Lusk Blvd.; East - 805 Freeway/ North - Mira Mesa Blvd./805 Freeway; West - Lusk Blvd./Mira Mesa Blvd.; Offerors must provide evidence that properties are outside the 100-year flood plain. VA staff will conduct a market survey of properties offered for lease. Interested offerors (owners, brokers, or their legal representatives) should submit 2 copies of specific information concerning their properties to the VA by mail, fax, or e-mail no later than 2:00 p.m. on March 15, 2010, at the following address: Department of Veterans Affairs Network 22 Logistics Office (NLO/CC) ATTN: Alan Trinh 5901 E. 7th Street, Bldg. 149 Long Beach, CA 90822 Telephone: 562-826-8124 FAX: 562-961-1356 E-Mail: Alan.Trinh@va.gov Net usable square feet does not include such areas as stairs, elevators, mechanical and utility rooms, ducts, shafts, vestibules and public corridors, and public toilets required by local code. The Government is limited by law (41 C.F.R. 102-73.55) to pay no more than the appraised fair rental value for space. RESPONDENTS ARE ADVISED THAT THE VA ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY TO AWARD A LEASE BASED UPON RESPONSES TO THIS ADVERTISEMENT.
