- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, it is the Governments intent to award a sole source contract to Fairbanks Morse Engine, 701 White Ave Beloit, WI 53511, for the purchase of engine parts for existing Fairbanks Morse Model 38D8-1/8. These parts will replace existing worn or non-functioning parts and replenish stock. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. If no challenges to acquire this item are received by 4:00 p.m., EST, 1 April 2010, the Government reserves the right to execute an award without publishing a solicitation. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to jeffrey.sprecher@us.army.mil no later than the time and date noted above. After the publication of this announcement for fifteen (15) days, solicitation W81XWH-10-T-0165 will be posted for five (days).
