Description
This acquisition is for the Meal, Alternative Regionally Customized (MARC) a self-contained packet consisting of a single meal utilizing commercial packaging sufficient to meet the salient characteristics, nutritional requirements and other provisions of the Technical Data Package. The ingredients, formulations, and components offered must not contain prohibited material as defined in this document. Entrees and complementary items for Meal, Alternative Regionally Customized (MARC), shall comply with applicable shelf life and size requirements as the Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE), but it is not designed to take the place of an MRE. It is designed to employ commercial components and packaging to reduce costs. The Government shall have sole authority to determine acceptability of products offered based on the commercial practice of the submission of a Certificate of Conformance (COC). The minimum shelf life shall be 12 months at 80oF from the time components are assembles into the packet. The contractor shall ship the MARC with no less than 9 months shelf life remaining. A Certificate of Conformance shall be furnished to the Contracting Officer prior to award/delivery certifying that the product and packaging offered will meet the required shelf life. There are 10 meals per case. This is for an Indefinite Quantity Type Contract (IQC) with one base year (two) one year option years. The Base year minimum quantity: 25,000 cases The Base year maximum quantity: 200,000 cases Each Option year has the same minimum and maximum quantity as the base year. This contract shall be F.O.B. Origin: Inspection & Acceptance Origin. This is an unresticted acquisition. Low Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) process will be used. The contract will result in a Single Award.
