- Description
- Market Survey: Procurement of FE-Safe Software Package with Verity, Licenses plus Right to Use and Maintenance Enhancement Support. The United States Army Contracting Command, Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center, on behalf of the Analysis & Evaluation Technology Division within the Munitions Engineering Technology Center of the US Army RDECOM is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources that are capable of providing the Fe-Safe Software Package that can be utilized for extending functionality of modeling advanced materials for fatigue and that is compatible with ABAQUS. The Analysis & Evaluation Technology Division is a functional element within the Fuze and Precision Munitions Technology Directorate in the Munitions Engineering and Technology Center. The mission of the AETD is to perform engineering analysis on all armaments in all stages of development and production. This analysis includes static structural analysis, dynamic structural analysis, computation fluid dynamics, electrical component analysis, electrical system analysis, sensor performance analysis, reliability analysis, manufacturing tolerance analyses, and process capability analyses. The division employs a specialized group of scientific, engineering and technical personnel specifically focused on the design and analysis of electrical systems and mechanical structures developed for high g applications specializing in gun launch survivability. The AETD mission is to support design developments and improve our scientific, engineering and technical expertise in order to minimize time that is required to transform ideas to a precision weapon system in the soldiers hands. The AETD currently utilizes the ABAQUS software suite in order to support this mission. Currently, the ABAQUS software suite is fully installed and utilized as the key Finite Element Analysis (FEA) code that AETD employs to accomplish their high quality engineering analysis tasks. Because all of ARDECs designed precision munitions such as the Excalibur projectile comprise of complex geometries and complex load cycles, the AETD must utilize a finite element (FE) based fatigue analysis to model key components susceptible to fatigue. Fatigue Analyses with FE-Safe and ABAQUS is a post processing operation thus, the FE-Safe software allows our engineers to consider fatigue and durability early in product design minimizing expensive prototype testing, leading to more high tech, streamlined and cost effective reliable components to support the Warfighter. Auxiliary FEA applications must be fully compatible and functional with the ABAQUS FEA software suites currently utilized at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. Interested respondents should include information that provides evidence of experience in the following areas: 1.Ability to provide Maintenance, Enhancement and Support Periods for each FE-Safe Software Package. 2.Ability to provide improvements and updates to the FE-Safe software suite as are generally made available to other licensees of FE-Safe Software Programs. 3.Ability to provide Customers assistance as necessary to cause each FE-Safe Program to perform in accordance with the specifications set forth in the FE-Safe Program manuals. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). It is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. Interested sources should submit their qualification data and requested information no later than 4:00 EDT on 26March2010 by email to Courtney.Barnes2@us.army.mil.
