- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Area, Kansas City Office, intends to issue a Request for Proposal for a competitive requirement for the development and deployment of a web based service difficulty reporting system to be used by general aviation type clubs. The primary objectives are to assist type clubs (user/owner of various models of Beech, Cessna, or Piper airplanes), and other interested general aviation organizations in collecting a more complete history of service difficulties, and or provide a database to deposit and store information for trend and safety effects analysis. This procurement is unrestricted in regard to business size, but should have experience in general aviation engineering and/or maintenance, service difficulty reporting systems, and safety trend analysis. Must have the capability to; Develop a web based data entry form similar to the FAA Malfunction/Defect Report form found at http://av-info.faa.gov/sdrx/SubmissionsGeneralAviation.aspx Create a host server (independent of the FAA) to store and allow access to submitted data. The host server must interface with existing type club web sites. Provide database security and controlled access Provide initial technical support to type clubs to establish interface of type club web sites to host server Provide monthly status report to the FAA sponsoring organization This announcement is seeking interested parties capable providing the services outlined above, and shall not be construed as a commitment of any kind. NOTICE> for information purposes for Minority, Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
