- GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose and intent of this contract is to secure services for pre-commercial thinning of approximately 311 acres of conifer reproduction, approximately 19 to 21 years old. The Contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, housing, subsistence, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals except those items listed as Government-furnished property. The performance period is 215 calendar days. PROJECT LOCATION: This project is located on the Tongass National Forest’s Hoonah Ranger District. There are 5 Items located east of Hoonah, Alaska on the Iyouktug (8534) road system. All Items are approximately 18 road miles east of Hoonah. The Iyouktug (8534) road system is accessible by vehicle and ATV’s from Hoonah. The city of Hoonah, Alaska, population 900, is the administrative site of the Tongass National Forest’s Hoonah Ranger District. Hoonah is located on the east side of Chichagof Island. It is approximately 40 air miles west of Juneau, Alaska, the closest transportation and supply center. Access to Hoonah is limited to air and water transportation. Alaska Airlines, in combination with Juneau-based air taxi and charter services, provide air service between Seattle, Washington, Juneau and Hoonah. The Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System (from Bellingham, Washington), barge service (from both Juneau and Seattle) and Juneau and Hoonah based landing-craft services provide water transportation for passengers and/or freight. SOLICITATION INFORMATION: The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about April 2, 2010 for viewing and printing. Potential offerors are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet. If unable to successfully obtain the solicitation from the internet, then a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907-747-4289. Fax requests must reference solicitation number RFP-AG-0116-S-10-0030. Telephone requests will not be honored. Proposals will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATION: By registering to receive notification on posted synopses, you will be automatically notified via email of any changes to the project. To register, select Register to Receive Notification and follow the steps. Follow the same procedure for EACH project. PLAN HOLDERS LISTS: The Interested Vendors List (IVL) has replaced the plan Holders Lists that was previously available with solicitation packages. Access the IVL for all projects through the FedBizOpps website. To register as an interested vendor, select Register as an Interested Vendor and follow the steps. Follow this procedure for EACH project of interest. Use the Register as Interested Vendor option to add your company name to the IVL and then view or print the IVL by selecting View List of Interested Vendors for EACH project. IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to receive any contract award, Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) databases. To register your firm in the CCR system, go to: http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423 or 269-961-5757. To register your firm in the ORCA system, go to: http://www.bpn.gov.
