- The Austin Information Technology Center (AITC) is seeking a contractor to provide a turnkey project for the removal and relocation of the chilled and heating water piping for the AITC in Austin, Texas. The contractor shall provide a qualified onsite Superintendent or Project manager to coordinate the project until completion and final acceptance by the AITC. The general work shall include but is not limited to: CHW/HW piping - disconnect/remove old piping and install new piping & connections; Electrical - disconnect conduit /wiring from existing unit heaters and install conduit/wiring for unit heaters; Unit heaters - furnish and install 2 unit heaters; Roof penetrations - cut roofing and install curb for piping penetration. Alternate 1: Provide freeze protection in the Diesel Generator Room; Cap and seal all piping to be abandoned in place. The existing chilled and hot water pipes are currently crossing over a very critical areas of the Facility, the computer and electrical areas. Protection of the surrounding areas is imperative thus extra precaution must be exercised to prevent any water threats/damages to the computers and servers. The air temperature in the vicinity of the computer equipments must be properly maintained. The computers and electrical operations must also be undisturbed (remaining operational and accessible) during the entire process of switching these pipes over to an alternate path. Contractor shall repair any damage to existing structure caused during this project. Prevailing wages and certified payroll requirements will be applicable to this project.NAICS code is 238220 and the business size standard is $14 million. Construction Cost Range: $100,000 to $250,000. Subject to the availability of funds. This solicitation is set-aside for small Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and will be a competitive request for bid proposals. The statutory authority for this justification is: 38 U.S.C. 8127(c). The set aside to SDVOSB as described in FAR 6.302-5(b), Authorized or Required by Statute, and further encouraged by the Veterans First Contracting Program under Public Law 109-461. Solicitation (includes drawings) will be available on or about April 2, 2010. Bids will be opened on or about May 2, 2010.
