Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM)/PEO Land Systems (PEO LS) is seeking information regarding the capabilities of medium tactical vehicles currently in production. BACKGROUND: The United States Marine Corps (USMC) and US Navy's (USN) current medium tactical vehicle program is the Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR). MARCORSYSCOM intends to award a new contract for continuing production of MTVRs (including vehicles; vehicles with original equipment manufacturer installed armor kits; separate, uninstalled armor kits; logistics; engineering support; and program related data and services), and, in this regard, is conducting market research to determine if there are alternate sources of supply for medium tactical vehicles that can meet or exceed the performance requirements for the current MTVR. REQUIREMENT: MARCORSYSCOM is interested in sources that can demonstrate capability to produce and deliver medium tactical vehicles that meet or exceed performance requirements as outlined in the MTVR Purchase Description. (Note: A current draft vehicle Purchase Description will be provided upon email request to narissa.charles@usmc.mil. Only general information on armor protection can be provided due to security classification concerns.) MARCORSYSCOM and PEO LS are projecting requirements for up to 1900 total vehicles, with a minimum off-road payload capability of 7-tons, to be delivered across FYs 11-17. Potential vehicle variants include cargo, dump, wrecker and tractor. Only a portion of the vehicles would be ordered fully armored. Firms possessing the capabilities to produce and support vehicles as described herein and in the Purchase Description are invited to submit the following: Description of the proposed medium tactical vehicle system and it's armor protection (only unclassified data required with submission); information related to use of this system by other services and/or countries and associated quantities; status of logistics support information available in the DoD supply system; production experience, production rate/capacity, and current production requirements for the proposed system; company information to include the business size (large business, small business, 8(a), veteran owned small disadvantaged business, etc). This sources sought/request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisition. No entitlement to pay of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and the Government use of such information. Proprietary information submitted in response to this RFI will be protected when clearly identified as proprietary. Responses to this RFI should be mailed or delivered via FEDEX, UPS, or DHL to the following address no later than 3:00 p.m. EST, 06 Apr 2010. No phone calls will be accepted: MARCORSYSCOM/CTLS Attn: Anita Norris (PEO, LS); 2201A Willis St.; Quantico, VA 22134-6050. Submissions can be hand-carried to MARCORSYSCOM/CTLS Attn: Anita Norris (PEO, LS); 2200 Lester St.; Quantico, VA 22134-6050.
