Description
A new exciting job opportunity exists with the United States Government, represented by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), for a motivated individual to serve as Deputy Team Leader (DTL) of the HIV/AIDS & TB Team in USAID/Nigeria's Investing in People Office. The DTL shall provide broad technical guidance, analysis, and leadership in the formulation and management of USAID/Nigeria's HIV/AIDS & TB portfolio as well as to the interagency management group of the PEPFAR/Nigeria (President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) program, and implementation of its Country Operational Plan. The contractor shall function as the alter ego of the HIV/AIDS & TB Team Leader and serve as the Acting Team Leader during the absence of the Team Leader in coordinating the day-to-day implementation of all team functions, in accordance with approved guidelines, regulations and procedures. S/he shall assure technical oversight of the HIV/AIDS & TB Team on all sub-sector and technical working group matters, coordinate, supervise and develop team members, engage team members in portfolio development and strengthen monitoring and evaluation. The contractor shall report directly to the HIV/AIDS & TB Team Leader and be responsibility for formulating and assessing HIV/AIDS & TB technical and managerial policies and procedures. Specifically, the contractor shall be responsible for (1) assisting in administering of HIV/AIDS & TB activities; (2) conducting or orchestrating team development and supervisory activities (i.e., work planning, staff development, coaching, mentoring, training, and performance appraisal) for HIV/AIDS & TB team members; and (3) overseeing interagency coordination of HIV/AIDS & TB activities.
