- Description
- PBS-4100 Vib Balance Analyzer Cal Kit This is a request for information (RFI) / SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This request is not a solicitation (Request for Proposal or Request for Quotations) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. The purpose of this request for information is in support of market research being conducted by the Air Force Metrology Calibration Program (AFMETCAL) to identify potential sources and gather information on current capabilities within the market. This synopsis is for planning purposes only and is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited hereunder. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the responding party's expense. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked PROPRIETARY will be handled accordingly. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. Proprietary information or trade secrets should be clearly identified. AFMETCAL is considering an anticipated sole source purchase of a PBS-4100 Vib Balance Analyzer Cal Kit. A Calibration Kit is required to calibrate all of the various versions of the PBS-4100 Portable Vibration Balance Analyzers including all charge amplifiers made by MTI Instruments of Albany NY. The Kit must contain a precision signal source, and all of the necessary cables and adapters to connect this source to all of the different PBS-4100s and its charge amplifiers. Also included in this package is software that automates the calibration of the PBS-4100 with this signal source and also operates the calibration of the signal source itself. Lastly, this kit must also contain all accessories required to fully calibrate the source. The precision signal source must feature two independent signal output channels. It must provide voltage; AC (Sine, Square, Triangle, and Saw-tooth waveforms) from 0 to 9.999 Volts Pk, and from 0.1 to 100 KHz in 0.1 Hz increments and DC at +/-9.999 VDC. And also include Single and Double Ended Charge signals from 0 to 9999.9 pC PK to simulate accelerometer and other charge mode devices. Both signals at an accuracy of +/-0.05%. The signal source must also have the capability to generate speed signals, tachometer signals, multi-tooth gears and odd-pulsed signals. It must also be able to generate synchronized sweeps at certain frequencies and start/stop times. The precision source must have some type of memory to store and recall frequently used settings. Lastly, the precision source must be able to not only produce standard signals to calibrate the PBS-4100 systems, but if found out of tolerance, the source will transfer calibration coefficients that aligns the system automatically. The total estimated quantity is 45 units. Surplus or used material is not acceptable for this item. Offerors responding to this sources sought market research notice must: (1) state whether they are a small or large business, and indicate if the company is a small disadvantaged or woman-owned business, veteran owned, 8(a) firm, or a historically black college or university or minority institution (HBCU/MI), or a historically underutilized business zone (HUBZone) small business (2) advise if your product is a commercial item and how long you can hold pricing if quotes are requested (3) advise if you have the item on a GSA schedule or other Government contract include front page of schedule and the page showing the part is on award (4) provide information concerning the technical capabilities of the product you are interested in offering, including commercial literature/brochures and warranty.
