- Description
- The following are responses to questions received in regard to the solicitation. Question: Does the camera which appears to be provided by one supplier need to be a integrated infrared dome or can a compilation of '5MP D/N w/outdoor housing and separate IR illuminator' be used to accomplish the same objective? Response: The system should be integrated and not a compilation. That is because we desire that each piece of hardware is capable of supporting the mission in its own parameter without having to rely on other devices. It is our desire to reduce the amount fail-points on this application. We need to be able to pin point a problem with out having multiple systems or components to overlook and if there was a problem be able to get the system back up and running as fast as possible. Furthermore, compiled systems generally reveal underlying problems that arise as different system components (although they have been proven to be technically compliant) will still have hiccups in interfaced connectivity. Question: Is it necessary for the exterior cameras to be powered by POE? Response: Yes, it will be required at all Megapixel cameras be Power over Ethernet (POE). Question: If so, can the housing Heater/Blower if necessary be powered by a separate Low Voltage Centralized source and the camera on POE? Response: All associated camera power for infrared/camera and heater/blower must be Power over Ethernet (POE). Again, it goes without saying that we would like to achieve our goal with one integrated solution as it includes power. The fewer design mechanisms that go into this installation, the more simple the long-term upkeep maintenance and lower service costs. Question: Can the motion detection zones be accommodated by the NVR solution instead of the camera? Response: All Megapixel cameras must also contain built in motion detection and not just the Network Video Recorder (NVR). Question: What is the desired size for the 3 requested monitors ? Response: All monitors should be a minimum of 21 and be rated for high definition 1080. Each qualified contractors Master Certified Electronics Technician will have the technical ability to effectively integrate the 16 CCTV channels and Graphical user Interface (GUI) to our desire on site. Question: 5TB is specified, is there a desired frame rate and archiving duration? Response: The 16 Channel Network Video Recorder (NVR) will be supplied with a 5TB hard disk. The frame rate must be capable to record at least 10 Frames Per Second (FPS) consistently per camera and provide a minimum of 30 days storage. The Master CET will optimize the system for performance around this minimum baseline. We gladly welcome increased capability of hardware but require that least 10 Frames Per Second (FPS) be provided. This minimum requirement is quite standard, industry wide. End of Question & Answers. Please be aware that no extension will be made as of this amendment and the previously stated deadline of 20 April 2010 1:00PM MST is still in effect.
