Description
This notice is for Recovery Act Project No. 630A4-09-403, Upgrade the Ventilation System in Building 1 at the New York Harbor Healthcare System-Brooklyn Campus. This shall be a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). As a result all SDVOSB's may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. This project is classified under NAICS code 236220, and has a size standard of $33.5 Million. The cost estimate for this project is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The work includes but is not limited to: Demolition of existing ventilation ductwork on the 8th, 11th, 12th, and 13th floor inpatient units as shown on the contract drawings and specifications. Work also includes demolition of the exhaust fan (ef-4) as shown on the drawing and specification. Installation of new exhaust ductwork as shown. Contractor to install a new exhaust fan on (ef-4) on the 18th floor roof as per the contract drawings and specifications. Contractor to provide means of rigging the new exhaust unit to 18th floor roof. Work also includes but is not limited to cleaning out and vacuuming existing exhaust duct risers. Also clean out and vacuum existing branch duct work. Contractor must work around the hours of the inpatient unit floors and coordinate with COTR and Nursing staff. All work shall be done in compliance with the contract drawings and specifications. All work shall be done in accordance with NFPA 101 life safety code, NFPA 99 health care facilities, and current infection control measures, interim life safety measures, and VA standards and criteria. Construction phasing will be required to minimize interference with hospital's daily scheduled activities and occupants. All other details and information shall be contained in the solicitation which shall be posted on www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will be released on or around May 12, 2010. The bid submittal address, date and time will be included in the solicitation. This project requires bonding and all bid submission shall be in hardcopies; faxed or e-mailed bids will not be accepted. All bidders shall be registered in www.ccr.gov, www.vetbiz.gov, www.orca.bpn.gov, and http://vets100.vets.dol.gov. End of Description
