Description
This is a Request for Quote. This is a low price procurement. The Contractor shall spray a DOD approved herbicide on 930 acres at the maximum permitted rate according to label directions to control Musk Thistle (Carduus nutans), Canada Thistle (Cirsium arvense), and Field Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) so that the population is visibly reduced by at least 80 percent. It is recommended to use Grazon P+D at the rate of 4 pints per acre. Some spot applications will be necessary around the field borders that a boom sprayer will not be able to cover. Applications must be in conformance with state, federal, and DOD laws and regulations. This spraying must be completed by June 1, 2010. The Contractor must coordinate application dates with the 88th RSCs PMC so that the PMC is available to evaluate quality assurance by observing chemical mixing and application. Areas with standing water are to be avoided; wetland areas that may have standing water are identified in Appendix C. The Contractor shall spray a DOD approved herbicide on specified areas that total less than 10 acres at the maximum permitted rate according to label directions to control Reed Canary Grass (Phalaris arundinacea). The locations of the invasive species have been mapped (Appendix B). These areas consist of three small wetlands (less than 4 acres), locations along a usually dry creek, and a few locations (less than 5 m2) in dry fields. It is recommended that the plants be treated in the spring once 2-3 feet of growth has been reached with 3 quarts per acre of Rodeo herbicide.
