Description
The US Army Contracting Command, Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the U.S Army Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), is seeking potential sources that have the capability to provide a complete Doppler Radar System that will be used to measure the muzzle velocity of various projectiles ranging in size from 5.56mm through 155mm. The system design must be robust enough to withstand blast pressures and vibrations from 155mm artillery. This radar system must be capable of recording velocities ranging from 30-3000 m/s with an overall system accuracy of 0.05% with the ability to store over 1000 muzzle velocity results in a non-volatile memory. The Doppler Radar System must be equipped with a muzzle flash detector. The muzzle flash detector will be used to start the data acquisition. Data acquisition can also be started with an external asynchronous analog trigger, Doppler or manually. The fully automated data acquisition system should be GUI control and should feature at least 12 bit Digital to Analog Conversion,.6-3000 microseconds sampling rate, fully automated Fast Fourier Transform processing to include full reporting of raw and processed data. Data reports should include Velocity versus, Time, Muzzle velocity, Waterfall Display, Curve fit data, Spin Analysis, and full session report. The system must be compact enough to easily move from one test range to another. Antenna output power must not exceed 0.5 Watts. This system must be capable of operating outside in adverse weather conditions, and is required to meet or exceed a minimum operating temperature of 0 F and a maximum of 120 F. Humidity must not affect this system. This system must include all software and hardware including tripods, cabling, controllers required for use.Firms/companies are invited to indicate their capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data, the information provided will not be returned. All data should be sent at no cost to the US Government NO LATER THAN May 12, 2010 to the US Army ARDEC. ATTN: Pamela Penaherrera, CCJM-JA, Phipps Road Bldg 10 Picatinny, NJ 07866-5000, email: pam.penaherrera@us.army.mil. In addition, please provide the firms name and address, point of contact with telephone number and email address, and size of business (small/large), a copy of most recent ORCA certification. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email. This is a market survey to be used for informational planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor is the Government obligated to issue an RFP. The US Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
