- Description
- This action has been awarded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of2009. In compliance with this Act, the Government posts this notice that change order-1was issued to task order #74 under contract NNJ08JA02C, the Facilities Contract, toprocure facilities support services for Hurricane Ike Phase II repairs funded by theAmerican Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The facilities support services providedunder Task Order #74, Change Order-1 included:
1) The contractor is to provide additional support for Roof Packages #1 & #2 to installHEPA filtering on Air Handling Units on an as needed basis to prevent asbestos fibersfrom being spread throughout the building due to spray applied insulation being dislodgedduring the re-roofing operations.
2) The contractor is to provide additional support for the Building #1 Window ReplacementProject to prepare each space for window replacement and return it to its originalconfiguration after window replacement is completed.
This support is required to prevent health hazards from being created in the buildingduring re-roofing operations and to allow access to spaces for window replacements.
Modification 160 was issued for funding of the change order.
The Facilities Contract is a firm-fixed-price/cost-plus-award fee/award term contractwhich was awarded on a competitive basis. This task order was issued ascost-reimbursable. A cost-type arrangement is appropriate due to uncertainties involvedin contract performance that do not permit costs to be estimated with sufficient accuracyto use any type of fixed-price contract. In addition, a cost-type task order was selectedto provide the contractor the greatest incentive for efficient and economicalperformance, given the types of services to be performed.
