- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a construction project for Concrete Repairs, Franklin Falls Dam, Franklin, New Hampshire to determine the interest, availability, and capability of Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, 8(a), HUBZone and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238110. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $500,000. The project is planned to be issued on or about June 2010 and the contract performance period is 6 months. All deteriorated or unsound concrete surfaces shall be sounded and repaired with shotcrete on the east spillway retaining wall of the spillway approach channel, the east and west inlet channel retaining walls, and the east and west retaining walls and the center walls of the outlet channel stilling basin. Determine actual locations and limits of deteriorated concrete by visual inspection and by tapping with a hammer or steel rod and listening for dull or hollow sounds. Concrete surfaces shall be sounded a minimum of one foot beyond all edges of visually inspected deteriorated areas. Sawcut and remove all areas of unsound concrete, a minimum of 1 deep. Apply shotcrete. Upon completion of shotcrete application, all vertical and horizontal joints shall be re-established by sawcutting or tooling, or similarly approved method. Additionally, deteriorated and unsound concrete patches on the crest of the spillway weir (at locations of rock anchors) shall be repaired using portland cement concrete. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications of the team and experience in performing the work requirements stated above. Please include a specific example of concrete repair work and shotcreting including certified nozzlemen for the application of shotcrete. Include an example of experience using scaffolding equipment to work on channel side of inlet and outlet channel retaining walls or floating plant equipment. Proof of bonding capability is required. Responses are due May 28, 2010. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Ms. Rachael Raposa. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
