Description
The United States ARMY Program Manager Solider Protection & Individual Equipment (PM-SPIE) is requesting information regarding the manufacture of flexible ceramic based body armor for 7.62mm armor piecing protection. Requested information is only for materials that have not been previously tested or evaluated by (PM-SPIE), US Army. The armor shall meet or exceed Flexible Small Arms Protective Vest (FSAPV), E-Level, Class II, FSAPV-E (FQ/PD 07-06) ballistic performance and weight requirements. Special attention will be paid to the ballistic packages meeting ballistic requirements with system weight less than Class II specification. Ballistic data for flexible designs or concepts are also requested. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. The Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future development efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government and is for informational purposes only. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted.
