- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT notice. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, is seeking potential firms that have the capability to provide construction services for repair of Port Wing Harbor Repair of East Pier Section C. The work will consist of but not limited to removal of concrete cap, partial removal of timber wall pile caps, removal and replacement of existing scour stone, driveline excavation for steel sheet pile (SSP) placement and construction of SSP support steel for 50 ft, armor stone encapsulation of 396.5 feet and placement of stone fill and reinforced concrete cap. The contract will have a 12 month completion requirement. The estimated award date of the contract is 26 July 52010. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, which has a size standard of $33,500,000 in average annual receipts. This is NOT a request for proposals. This announcement is for planning purposes only. In order to determine the extent of industry interest and experience in the requirement, interested contractors shall present the following information: a brief overview of the firms capabilities including experience on construction projects similar in scope and cost magnitude to this program; and any socio-economic classification(s) (e.g., large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, etc.) as they relate to NAICS code 237990. Firms MUST submit a letter from their bonding company related to their bonding capacity for individual projects along with their letter of interest. Qualified companies are encouraged to respond. The response to this notice shall be in summary format and shall not exceed two (2) pages. Do NOT send an SF 330. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this sources sought or Government use of any information provided. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of comments. Companies or individuals interested in responding are invited to submit their information via email only to Contracting at either Darryl.K.Williams@usace.army.mil or LRE-Quotes@usace.army.mil. All attachments must be provided in either Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Please send responses by no later than 2:00 PM local prevailing time at Detroit, MI on 7 June 2010.
