- Description
- Rifle Scope Mount System Specifications 1. The Special Forces Group requires a rifle scope mount system capable of utilizing the currently fielded night vision devices (NVD) and infrared (IR) lights/lasers. This system must be modular in order to provide various configuration options in order to meet our operational needs. 2. The system must have the following characteristics: a. Designed to be used with the currently fielded sniper rifle scopes. b. Designed to be mounted on the M24 sniper weapon system, MK-11 semi-automatic sniper rifle, MK-12 special purpose rifle, MK-13 sniper rifle, M-107.50 cal rifle and the M110 semi-automatic sniper system. c. Capable of utilizing the current mountable night vision devices (NVD) and infrared (IR) lights/lasers. d. The rail system has to be designed around the scope rings similar to those found on our current systems. e. Ability to use the system as a standard scope mount once the NVD and IR devices are removed. f. Repeatable quick detach system to eliminate zero shifts when the mount is removed from the weapon system. g. Must be machined with 20 minutes of angle built into the system eliminating the need to shim the rifle base. h. All items attached to the rail system have to be either located to the front of the scope or on top making adjustments easier for the shooter. i. Designed to act as a shock absorber to protect sensitive internal electronics in NVDs and IR devices. j. The rail system has to be a modular system so that it can be updated or modified in the future.
