Description
The Special Forces Group requires a spotting scope rail system capable of utilizing the currently fielded night vision devices (NVD), infrared (IR) lights/lasers and range finders. This system must be modular in order to provide various configuration options in order to meet our operational needs. 2. The systems must have the following characteristics: a. Designed to be used with the Leupold M151 spotting scope (currently fielded at the detachment level.) b. A tripod with telescopic legs that can be released by a locking lever on each leg. Center column height adjustment for additional height adjustment, as well as a center column that can be set either horizontally or vertically c. Adjustable ball head mount with grip handle to allow field of view adjustments without having to move the position of the tripod. d. The system must have MIL-STD-1913 accessory rails. Rail attachments must be sized to accept currently fielded NVD, IR and range finders. e. The system must be modular and adaptable to future NVD, IR and range finders. f. Carrying case capable of carrying the entire system to include spotting scope. g. The size of the entire system to include scope, all attachments and tripod must be man portable.
