Description
NASA/DFRC has a requirement for a Quakeguard 300 system.QuakeGuard Systems detect and warn of an imminent earthquake, providing 1-40 secondswarning of the onset of damaging earthquakes, intensity 5.0 and greater. QuakeGuardearly warning systems can trigger alarms and initiate automatic response systems toreduce the chance of human injury and damage to property. QuakeGuard is for commercial,residential, school, hospital, emergency services, industrial, municipal and governmentinstallations. QuakeGuard generates a variety of alarms. Programmable built in audioalert, connects to external alarm, siren, PA system or alert, triggers visual alerts andlights, and communicates alerts via pagers, cell phones and the Internet. QuakeGuardgenerates a variety of output signals, controlling automated devices to protect peopleand assets.Isolate hazards, protect mission-critical systems, avoid disruption of service, andprotect assets.NASA/DFRC intends to purchase the items from Seismic Warning Systems, INC. This vendor isthe only vendor that has this product that has been developed, tested and is used in thecommercial sector and is the only available system that can provide the warning needed toprotect the Antelope Valley (CA).The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon June 9, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.Any referenced notes may be viewed at the following URLs linked below.
