- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. This notice is solely intended to notify contractors of a pending release of a construction/construction management solicitation. SAIC-Frederick Inc., Operational and Technical Support Contractor for the National Cancer Institute at Frederick (NCI-Frederick) under Contract number HHSN261200800001 requires a Contractor/Construction Manager for a Research and Develop (R&D) construction project. The facility is in close proximity to Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland which has been named the "Advanced Technology Research Facility (ATRF). The project entails interior fit out and base building upgrades to approximately 242,669 gross square feet. The project consists of the following programs- Biopharmaceutical Development Program (BDP Bldg. A&B), Advanced Technology Program (ATP Bldg. C), the Advanced Technology Program /Center for Cancer Research (ATP/CCR Bldg. D). The facility is based on a specific design criterion that allows for the development of biomedical advanced technologies and translation of research discoveries to clinical settings. This includes special construction associated with an environment specifically designed for cGMP manufacturing, laboratory, research, development, and testing associated with cancer research and production of drugs, vaccines, and other biopharmaceutical products. Interested parties are requested to submit Capability Statements demonstrating the offeror's past performances with this type of facility by June 30, 2010 to: SAIC-Frederick, Operational and Technical Support Contractor, Attn: Matthew Hull, at SAIC-Frederick, Bldg. 1050 Room 101, P.O. Box B, Boyles Street, Frederick, MD 21702. Questions shall be received via email only at matthew.hull@mail.nih.gov. Capability statements should not exceed twenty (25) pages inclusive of the cover sheet. This is not a request for proposal, and no awards will result from this notice. The schedule below is the anticipated schedule for the construction solicitation. This schedule is solely intended to allow the contractors to schedule ahead for up coming events and to plan accordingly. This schedule is not intended to be all inclusive and is subject to change. Mid to Late June of 2010: Modify the Source Sought Notice to include "Issue for Bid" set of Drawings. Mid July 2010: Issue Solicitation Mid July 2010: Conduct Site Visits and Question/Answer period (Contractors will have had the drawings for a month prior to the solicitation, therefore, the question submittal period will only be a week long) PLAN ACCORDINGLY Mid August 2010: Proposal due date TBD but NLT 10/2010: Award Constructions Substantial Completion: Part of Technical Evaluation
