The COVE Training System delivers virtual environment training in a variety of configurations, and provides high fidelity modeling and simulation of the components necessary for U.S. Navy NSS training at Surface Warfare Officer School, Newport RI and other Fleet Concentration Areas. The anticipated contract effort will require design, development, installation, testing, documentation, modification, and maintenance of hardware and software configurations to meet current and future training requirements. A Sources Sought Notice was issued on 2 March 2010 (modified on 8 March 2010) which provided background information regarding the COVE Training System and is attached to this notice as well. It is anticipated that the resultant contract will be a single award, Indefinite Delivery type contract with a 5-year period of performance and a contract ceiling not to exceed $50M. The Government is in the process of finalizing its acquisition strategy and further defining its requirements and anticipates a formal solicitation to be released on or about July 2010.
