The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District, Contracting Division has a requirement for the above subject. This is not a Solicitation Announcement and is not a Request for Proposal. This does not obligate the Government to any contract award. The Small Business Size Standard is less than 500 Employees. To make an appropriate acquisition decision for the above project, the Government will use responses to this sources sought synopsis. Project Title: Supply of New Station Battery, St. Stephen Power Plant, St. Stephen, South Carolina, Berkeley County This requirement is for the supply of a new sealed cell valve regulated lead-acid battery to replace the existing station battery as described below. General: The existing station battery is a flooded cell lead acid battery consisting of 58 cells. The system is designed for 125 VDC and 800 Ah capacity at an 8 hour discharge rate. The system is used to supply the station DC system during instances where the 480 VAC supply to the station battery chargers is lost. Under normal operating conditions the entire DC system load is carried by the two filtered output station battery chargers. The battery and chargers are connected to the station DC system distribution board by means of molded case circuit breakers. The battery and chargers are connected to the distribution board at all times such that in the event both chargers fail the battery takes the station DC load with interruption of service. If you can meet the requirement for this project, please respond to this sources sought by email, to Angela Kelly. The e-mail address for Mrs. Kelly is angela.kelly@usace.army.mil.
