Description
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for: Heavy-Ion Single Event Effect (SEE) testing ofmicroelectronics, photonics, and materials. NASA/GSFC proposes to utilize the TAMUheavy-ion irradiation facility for radiation effects research for space flightapplications. NASA/GSFC intends to conduct heavy-ion beam time and related support testing in supportof NASA/GSFCs radiation effects research for the NASA Electronic Parts and Packaging(NEPP) Program at Texas A&M University Cyclotron Facility (TAMU). It is ourunderstanding the Texas A&M University Cyclotron Facility (TAMU) is the only vendor thatcan provide the required device test mounting, dosimetry, and prime user facilities.This synopsis shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will theGovernment pay for the information solicited.Questions regarding this acquisition must be directed to the attention of Kimber Russellvia e-mail at Kimber.R.Russell@nasa.gov or via facsimile at (301) 286-9159 by 12:00pmEST, June 7, 2010.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00pm EST on June7, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose ofdetermining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. It is thequoters responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments. Potentialquoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice.A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the Government.Oral communications ARE NOT acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An ombudsman has been appointed.
