Description

The Rock Island Contracting Center intends to issue Request for Quote, W52P1J-10-Q-0024, to the Army Single Face to Industry Website (AFSI) at http://acquisition.army.mil/afsi on or about 28 Jun 2010 with a closing date of 20 days after issuance. The applicable NAICS code is 325920. The RFQ will be issued on a full and open competitive basis. This procurement is for a base quantity of 2,000 each MN85 Dynamite (75 percent Ammonium Nitrate) NSN: 1375-01-494-9223, PN: DN107310008-1, with a 50 percent base option and two, 200 percent options, and a base quantity of 2,000 each M587 Dynamite (40 percent Nitroglycerine), NSN: 1375-00-096-3095, PN: R70JA with a 50 percent base option and two (2), 150 percent options. A detailed statement of work will be provided with the solicitation that specifically outlines the requirements. The acquisition strategy for these items is commercial, simplified acquisition. The sticks of Dynamite (40 percent Nitroglycerine) and sticks of Dynamite (75 percent Ammonium Nitrate) will be procured via purchase order with the options identified above. MN85 Dynamite (75 percent Ammonium Nitrate) is a detonator sensitive, all-purpose, water resistant, packaged emulsion explosive that is recommended for underground drifting, quarry and construction blasting applications in medium rock types. M587 Dynamite (40 percent Nitroglycerine) is used in Canine Explosive Scent Kits designed to provide realistic training for sentry dogs and increase their proficiency to search and detect various amounts of explosive materials used by terrorists and subversives. All contractors who provide goods/services to the Department of Defense must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR). You may also contact the CCR Registration Assistance Center at 1-888-227-2423, customer service, and request the registration form and assistance packet for completion. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.5, 5.102 and 14.205-1 (a), therefore hardcopies will not be provided. NOTE: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals may render your proposal non-responsive and result in the rejection of it.
