Description
This notice is for project No. 630A4-09-421, OR 5th Floor Mechanical Upgrade @ VA Brooklyn Campus of the New York Harbor Healthcare System, Brooklyn, NY 11209 This shall be a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). As a result all SDVOSB's may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. This project is classified under NAICS Code 236220, and has a size standard of $33.5 Million. The cost estimate range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. 1.Work includes but is not limited to demolition of existing Air Handler Unit (AC-6) and Exhaust Fan (E-6) and associated ductwork and material. 2.Install new Air Handler Unit (AC-6) and Isolation Exhaust Fan (EF-1-ISO) and all associated ductwork and pertinent material shown on the 5th floor. 3.Work also includes the installation of new heat exchanger, pumps, steam generator, controls, disconnect switches, and all mechanical ductwork, piping, and electrical work. 4.Relocation and replacement of existing equipment and hangers to include and not be limited to dental compressors, hangers, piping, and all related material. 5.Provide temporary makeup air at all times to serve existing OR and PACU while construction to new OR and PACU is being build. 6.Contractor to complete work in Phases as coordinated with VA Project Engineer and VA staff. Work will be coordinated also with the OR Renovation Construction Project No. 630-407. 7.To minimize the impact of the daily operations of the Medical Center, certain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work will need to be done after hours and weekends only. Coordinate all scheduling with VA Project Engineer. 8.All work will conform to NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, BFPA 99 Health Care Facilities, and current Infection Control and VA Standards and Criteria. 9.All work must be done in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. 10.Install a new medical manifold in a new room as described in the plumbing drawings. This should include all wiring, manifolds, ventilation and miscellaneous appurtenant material. All other details and information shall be contained in the solicitation which shall be posted on www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will be released on or around June 28, 2010. The bid submittal address, date and time will be included in the solicitation. This project requires bonding and all bid submissions shall be in hardcopies; faxed or e-mailed bids will not be accepted. All bidders shall be registered in www.ccr.gov, www.vetbiz.gov, and www.orca.bpn.gov. End of Description
