- Background The Pantex Plant is located 17 miles east of Amarillo, Texas. It is currently operated by B&W Technologies as a contractor for DOE. This contract is to lease equipment discribed in information below (see requirements) for up to five years. Requirements Our monthly volume for black and white copies – 400,000 Our monthly volume for color copies = 112,000 We need two black and white copier/scanners. Each system must be capable of reproducing various half tones for grayscale work. Every system must run at 124 to 150 pages per minute. Every system must conserve energy and be designated as green. All equipment must have the proper power, network, storage and monitoring hardware and software included in quote. Finishing requirements (mandatory in bold) When possible, we prefer inline finishing. Binding Padding Folding (z, c. and bi) 2 or 3 hole punch Eyelet punch used to apply a metal grommet and string for making tags with string Laminating – comparable to Catena 65 Laminator Stapling Collating Saddle stitch Wide paper cutter with safety shield These capabilities are acceptable as separate or inline functions. All necessary power, software and hardware required for the installation and management of the print shop will be provided by the vendor. Safety/Security All devices must be UL listed. Necessary power adapters or conversions will be the vendor’s responsibility. Some of our work is classified. All security policies must be observed. All media becomes the property of Pantex. Wireless capability must be disabled. Maintenance Onsite maintenance is required. Delivery, installation and configuration must be provided by vendor. B&W will apply security and safety policies as well as configuration policies.
