Description
MARKET RESEARCH/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound is conducting a market survey to determine the availability of small businesses capable of providing the following: A contractor owned and operated mobile protective footwear store at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton WA, Naval Base Bangor in Silverdale WA, and at Naval Station Everett WA locations. The Bremerton location will be operated on a full time basis; the Bangor location operated two times per month; and Everett location operated one time per month using mobile trailers suitable for dispensing safety footwear.The contractor must provide a trailer not larger than 8-feet high by 12-feet wide by 56-feet long. Operating hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:00 am to 11:00 am Friday, excluding federal holidays. All costs associated with operation of the trailer will be borne by the contractor. Footwear stocked by the contractor must meet or exceed American National Standard Institute (ANSI) standards. At least one shoe must be stamped, stitched, or have a sewn-in label on the outside of the footwear which indicates that the footwear meets the requirements of ANSI Standard Z41 Class 75. Footwear issues are estimated at 550 pairs per year. The estimated period of performance is 1 October 2010 through 30 September 2011 with the possibility of up to four one-year option periods. Interested firms are requested to submit a capability statement outlining their ability to meet or exceed this potential requirement no later than 3:00 pm, 06 July 2010, stating their business size, and the business size of the shoe manufacturer, and to include confirmation the shoes are manufactured in the United States of America, as well as a point of contact. The Government will use the results of this announcement to determine whether the acquisition of the above-described services should be solicited as a small business set-aside, or whether full and open competitive procedures should be utilized. The Government will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation or delivery of the request for information.
