Description
The Forest Service requests proposals for timber presale services in the Summit Pierre Timber Sale area. The Summit Pierre Timber Sale Areas are located in Stevens County, Washington within the Deep Creek, Toulou Creek and East Deer Creek watersheds. Potential work areas are located National Forest System lands in T. 40 N., R. 36 E., Sections 12, and 13; T. 40 N., R. 37 E., Sections 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 17, 18, 20, 21, 28, 29, 32, and 3; T. 39 N., R. 37 E., Sections, 4, 5, and 9 on the Three Rivers Ranger District of the Colville National Forest. Slopes range from 5% to 80% with most on the slopes being 10% to 50%. The Government has an urgent need to complete all presale services under this requirement during the 2010 field season. Multiple awards (contracts) are contemplated, up to three awards, schedules A, B, and C listed below (see map for area location). An offeror may choose to be considered for award on only one, two or all three of the schedules. It is estimated that work may be started on or about July 26, 2010. Offerors need to take into consideration that 90 calendar days are allowed for the completion of each bid item. If a multiple bid item award is granted to an offeror, all contract times will run concurrently; i.e. contract time will be 90 days irrespective of the number of bid items on the contract. Work includes: Tree marking/painting, and tree cruising. Contractor and personnel shall be minimum qualified to be considered a responsible contractor under this requirement as shown through education, licensing, certifications and past experience. Contact Kelvin Davis at 509-775-7440 or e-mail: kedavis@fs.fed.us for more information.
