Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Nevada Water Science Center, has a requirement for services in support of near-continuous, depth-dependent, water-quality data at monitoring stations located on Lake Mead, Nevada. The expertise and abilities required in performing this service are as follows: 1. Experience in the service and operation of a YSI Inc. variable-winch profile system; 2. Experience in the service and operation of a YSI Inc. 6600 multi-parameter water-quality monitoring sonde; 3. Experience collecting, quality-assuring, and processing data collected using a YSI Inc. 6600 multi-parameter water-quality monitoring sonde; 4. Experience collecting, servicing, quality-assuring, and processing a variety of atmospheric instruments and associated data sets; 5. Experience in servicing, quality-assuring, and processing of Teledyne RD acoustic doppler current profile instruments and associated data sets; 6. Experience in remote data-transfer methods and instruments; 7. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work is completed in a variety of weather conditions that may include rain, strong winds, open-water conditions often with large swells and wave action, and high heat. A fixed price type purchase order is contemplated for this requirement. Competitive procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, will be utilized. The NAICS is 541690, Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services with a size standard of $7.0M. It is anticipated that a Request for Quote (RFQ) 10WRQQ0232, will be issued and posted to this site on or about July 6, 2010 with proposals due on or about July 13. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered.
