The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) VISN 11 is seeking preliminary market research information from prospective contractors to understand clinical features and functions, installation requirements, and implementation needs of an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) clinical information system (CIS) and an anesthesia record keeping system (ARK) and Virtual-ICU Technologies. The NAICS is 511210. The scope of this initiative includes seven (7) Medical Centers in VISN 11 (4 across Michigan, 1 in Illinois, and 2 in Indiana). The CIS and ARK will integrate information acquired at the point of care from a variety of medical devices. These include, but are not limited to: physiologic monitors (SpaceLabs), ventilators (Maquet, Respironics, Puritan Bennett), anesthesia machines (Drager, Datex Ohmeda), gas analyzers, infusion pumps (Alaris, Hospira), intra aortic balloon pumps, and SVO2/CCO monitors. The CIS and ARK will need to integrate with other information systems including, but not limited to: VA's VistA/CPRS hospital information system (Lab results, user passwords, ADT, VistA Imaging, etc.), data analytic system, and between the CIS and ARK. Respondents are asked to respond to the following: We are seeking information on the capability to provide CIS and ARK as a single product or as separate products. Address whether you offer a CIS solution, an ARK solution, or both. A Vendor Fair is planned for the Northern Tier at the Ann Arbor VAMC located at 2215 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 the week of July 26, 2010. There will be a set up day on Tuesday July 27th and the vendor fair would be on Wednesday July 28th and Thursday July 29th. The Southern Tier fair will be at the Indianapolis VAMC located at 1481 W. 10th St Indianapolis IN 46202 the week of August 2, 2010. There will be a set up day on August 3rd and the vendor fair on Wednesday August 4th and Thursday August 5th. At the vendor fair the participants will be given the opportunity to present capabilities and concepts. The Objectives are to clarify VISN 11's strategic approach, project organization, acquisition process, and general timeline for implementing CIS; familiarize VISN 11 staff with commercial off-the-shelf CIS products; conduct market research to understand clinical features and functions commonly available in modern commercial offerings for ICU Clinical Information Systems (ICU CIS), Anesthesia Record Keeping Systems (ARK), and Virtual-ICU technologies Additional details about specifics of the fair will be provided to respondents. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their request to participate as soon as possible. In order to participate in the Vendor Fair, respondents must contact the POC by July 16, 2010. Due to space restrictions, each vendor will be permitted to send a maximum of five (5) people to this vendor fair. Requests to participate must be submitted via email to Kenneth Silvers, Administrative Contract Specialist, at kenneth.silvers@va.gov.
