- Description
- The Purpose of this Addition to the Description of the Mill Creek Project is to Post by answering a Couple of questions raised that were not Covered in the Specs. This DOES NOT CHANGE the Sealed Bid Closing Date which Stays the same as: July 16, 2010 at 11:00am. The Following are Questions with Answers: 1. What is to be done with tree stumps? Answer: At the pre-bid, it was determined that the stumps be hauled or burnt at the contractor’s discretion. 2. Specs call for 2RC on Site 19, but not for Site 17. Is this correct? Answer: Yes, according to illustration 5 on sheet 4 (drawing for Site #19) 8 inches of 2RC is required., and illustration 4 on sheet 2 ((drawing for Site #17) 8 inches of native granular material (not defined) is required. In the pre-bid it was discussed that 2RC, which is equivalent to PennDOT 2A, may not be adequate in certain areas where the soil is saturated and the predominant soil type is a silty material. 3. Shall both access roads have geo-textile? Answer: No! Specifications call for 2RC aggregate with AASHTO #1 at the entrances. Geotextile was listed only at the entrances beneath the AASHTO #1. 4. Are all concrete structures (except weir) to be 6 inches thick? Answer: No, thicknesses will depend on the span, internal pressures, and the casting procedures (in-place vs. precast). 5. What size of 60% CaC03 is needed in the AeLB Pond? Answer: AASHTO #3 (2.5” to 0.5”) page 1000-2 in Technical Specifications. Although illustration 3 of Sheet 4 lists TS 1008 as the reference document, it is actually TS1002. These Questions and Answers DO NOT Change the Sealed Bid Opening date. The Sealed Bid Opening Date remains the same which is: July 16, 2010 at 11:00am.
