- Description
- The Government proposes to award an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract (IDIQ) for Dehumidifier, Desiccant, NSN 4440-01-190-6213 manufactured by Munters Corporation. The item is a desiccant dehumidifier used to cool the process air booster fan assembly on an Ohio Class SSBN trident Nuclear Submarine. It is the only known desiccant dehumidifier which meets the Navy's stringent vibration and noise specifications for drying out the submarine' missile tubes. There are no known substitutes or similar items that meet the Government's minimum needs. The Government does not possess complete unrestricted technical data to compete this item. The proposed acquisition will be solicited as a Request for Proposal on an unrestricted basis under other than full and open competition in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. All resulting delivery orders will be placed by DSCP on a DLA Direct basis. The resultant DSCP Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract will have a two (2) year base period with an option to extend the term in three (3) one (1) year increments for a maximum five year contract period. The estimate for this acquisition is $580,000.00/year with an estimated five year total coat of $2.9 Million. The contractor selected for award must be capable of satisfying DLA Direct orders on a recurring basis within contractual lead times. The contractor selected for award must be able to support this estimated annual requirement. Our intent is to ensure that the contractor is capable of and committed to meeting our delivery requirements.
