Description
The FAA intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract for the replacement of a Visual Approach Slope Indicator (VASI) with a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) serving Runway 32 at the Dane County Regional Airport, Madison, Wisconsin. The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment to perform the project in accordance with the contract provisions, specifications and drawings. The work consists of, but not limited to, the following: 1. Identify by survey the runway crown elevation and location of the center of each PAPI Lamp Housing Assemblies (LHA) and Power Control Unit (PCU) concrete foundations.2. Provide and install concrete foundation for PAPI LHA's and PCU rack.3. Construct four PAPI LHA's and a PAPI PCU rack.4. Provide and install power equipment on rack as shown on drawings.5. Provide and install power and control equipment on PAPI PCU rack as shown on drawings.6. Provide and install power conductors from disconnect switch to disconnect switch on PAPI PCU rack as shown on drawings.7. Provide and install power and control cables from PCU to PAPI LHA's.8. Provide and install control switch in ATCT for PAPI ground to ground control.9. Provide and install lightning protection and grounding for PAPI LHA's and PCU rack.10. Provide and install geotextile fabric and crushed rock for work area around PAPI LHA's and PCU rack.11. Backfill, grade and seed areas disturbed during construction restoring affected areas to preconstruction conditions.12. After cutover of new PAPI system, remove existing VASI system.13. Miscellaneous civil and electrical work as described in the drawings and specifications.14. Schedule and participate in a flight check of the PAPI. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. Contract performance time is 60 calendar days, with an anticipated start date of project as August 23, 2010. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000. NAICS is 237990. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK AT AN OPERATIONAL AIRPORT. General contractors must submit their interest in subject project on letterhead and include the firm's name, address, phone number, fax number, and point of contact by no later than July 23, 2010, 2:00 p.m. (CDT).
