NIACS: 238220 VA263-10-RP-0300 The VA Minneapolis Contracting and Purchasing Office, 708 South Third Street, Suite 200E, Minneapolis, MN 55415 on behalf of the Facilities Engineering Service, VA Medical Center, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417 is seeking to award to a suitable Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concern. This is NOT an ARRA project. This synopsis is published in accordance with VA Acquisition Regulations (VAAR) 810.001 and 810.002. Z - CONSTRUCTION PROJECT - DESIGN-BUILD FOR ER ISOLATION ROOMS General Scope of Contract Provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment, and design-build services necessary for design and construction of the project "Emergency Department Negative Pressure Isolation Rooms" as defined by the Scope of Work (SOW). Base Bid Room 1V-125 (Base Bid): a.Design room to meet Negative Pressure Isolation room (EXRG6) in accordance with VA Ambulatory Care (Hospital-Based) design guide. See attachment 2. b.Replace ceiling with gyp board. Seal penetrations of ceiling and walls airtight. c.Add door closer to existing door. d.Patch walls, ceilings and flooring to match existing. e.Mechanical Room 1Q-117, 2V-153, 3Q-118 (Base Bid): 1)Provide cutting and patching of floors as required to support one new exhaust duct through these spaces. f.Mechanical Equipment room 4Q-118 (Base Bid): 1)Provide equipment pad, cutting and patching as required for one new exhaust fan to be located in this room. 2)Provide roof penetration and patching of membrane roof for one new exhaust duct through roof. Option Item 1 Room 1V-128 (Option 1): a.Design room to meet Negative Pressure Isolation room in accordance with VA guidelines. b.Replace ceiling with gyp board. Seal penetrations of ceiling and walls airtight. c.Add door closer to existing door. d.Patch walls, ceilings and flooring to match existing. e.Mechanical Room 1Q-117, 2V-153, 3Q-118 (Option 1): 1)Provide cutting and patching of floors as required to support one new exhaust duct through these spaces. f.Mechanical Equipment room 4Q-118 (Option 1): 1)Provide equipment pad, cutting and patching as required for one new exhaust fan to be located in this room. 2)Provide roof penetration and patching of membrane roof for one new exhaust duct through roof. The VA has scheduled an organized site visit for this project on July 27, 2010 at 9:00 am at the VA Medical Center, Facility Engineering Service, Project Section, Room BR-145. Solicitation and scope of work documents are expected to be available at www.fbo.gov on or about July 16, 2010. In accordance with the VA Acquisition Regulations (VAAR 836.204) Disclosure of the Magnitude of Construction Projects, the range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Liquidated Damages: $200.00 per calendar day, including holidays and weekends. NAICS 238220 - $33.5M applies. Project duration is anticipated to be 120 days from Notice to Proceed. Offerors are to complete and submit their proposals (original required) not later than Monday, August 19, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. CT.
