- Description
- This is a sources sought announcement to conduct market research only. This announcement is being issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), a Request for Proposals (RFP), a Request for Quotations (RFQ) or an indication that the Government will contract for any of the items and/or services contained in this notice. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541370, Surveying and Mapping, with a small business size standard of $4.5M. The United States Government is investigating various methods of acquiring, delivering, disseminating, and storing large datasets of aerial and satellite imagery at a national level. Imagery for the Nation (IFTN) is an interagency initiative, developed in partnership with state and local governments, to address the government's business requirements for imagery. IFTN was developed through collaboration among many organizations within the geospatial community, including the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC), the National Digital Orthophoto Programs Committee (NDOP), the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC), the National Geospatial Advisory Committee (NGAC), and others. The IFTN initiative will build upon the National Agriculture Imagery Program (USDA Farm Services Agency) and the Urban Area Imagery Partnership (DOI U.S. Geological Survey and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency). IFTN is envisioned as a national program conducted with Federal leadership in partnership with State, local, and tribal governments. Interested parties are directed to the Unclassified Intelligence Community Acquisition Research Center (IC-ARC) Website, where a Request For Information (RFI) has been posted. The objective of this RFI is to identify commercial capabilities and efforts underway that meet the requirements of IFTN, and gather information from industry to help determine the most effective and efficient options for the collection, processing, management, and distribution of geospatially enabled imagery products to meet national requirements. To access the Unclassified IC-ARC Website you must first Register. Instructions are as follows: 1. From any Unclassified computer, GO TO URL: https://arc.westfields.net/, this brings you to the IC-ARC "splash" page. 2. Scroll down to and "Click" on "Create New Account". 3. Follow the instructions and complete the required information for Registration. The RFI provides additional detail and submittal instructions. Responses are due no later than 5:00P.M. (Eastern Time) on Monday, August 16, 2010.
