- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Entelos, Inc. 10 Marsh Drive, Foster City, CA 94404 pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253c(1)-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is to purchase the DrugMatrix® Toxicogenomics Database and Tissue Library with the following features: Database includes a graphics user interface that allows for rapid scoring of genomic signatures of toxicity, a framework that allows the storage and analysis of multiple data types, In vivo study data is from male Sprague Dawley rats including multiple dose levels and exposure durations (1, 3, 5,7, 14, 30 and/or 90 days), (with the exception of bioactive peptides) is performed via the oral route of administration (gavage dosing), diversity of chemical treatments including, but not limited to US Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved drugs, standard biochemicals, and environmental toxicants; In Vivo data metrics include histopathology (on all tissues which were evaluated by microarray), clinical chemistry, hematology, body and organ weights, and gene expression (microarray) profiles of liver, kidney, heart, thigh muscle, bone marrow, spleen, brain, and intestine. In vitro data includes pharmacology assays for toxicologically relevant endpoints (listed below) for all chemicals (with the exception of in vitro rat hepatocyte genomic studies) studied in vivo (rat), receptor binding, absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion, assays of all toxicologically relevant endpoints, toxicogenomic (microarray) studies of cultured rat primary hepatocytes, drug literature profiles for all chemicals listed in the database. The Rodent Tissue includes a snap frozen tissues and corresponding total RNA from liver, heart, kidney, skeletal muscle, whole blood (or plasma) from rats treated with test articles including, but not limited to FDA approved drugs, standard biochemicals and environmental toxicants, tissues/RNA from the same Sprague Dawley rats used to create the associated toxicogenomics database described above, all CRO study reports (in a digital format) relating to the tissues contained in the frozen library, and a detailed description of structure and interface of the tissue library database. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 10 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. The NAICS Code is 541711.
