Description
NOAA's Marine Operation Center has a requirement for dry dock ship repairs to the NOAA ship Okeanos Explorer. The contractor shall provide all supervision, material, and labor necessary to perform modifications, repairs, and preservation to the NOAA vessel Okeanos Explorer. The mooring and dry docking shall be accomplished at the contractor's facility. Performance of work is scheduled to begin on or about November 2, 2010 be completed no later than December 21, 2010. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this procurement is 336611 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. The work consists of approximately 15 basic items, and 10 option items. Basic work includes, but is not limited to: General Requirements for Work and Temporary Services; Drydocking and Routine Drydock Work, Propeller Shaft, Shaft Seals, & Shaft Bearing Inspections, Underwater Body Inspections, Aft Mast Light Alternative Compliance ABS Re-Classification ABS Surveys and Inspection Assistance, Underwater Hull Preservation and Coating, Sea ValveOverhauls, Radar Stand Repairs and Preservation, Ground Tackle Repairs and Preservation, Mechanical Ventilation Closure /Opening Repairs, Aft Peak Tank Oil Line Inspection, Davit Zerk Fitting Installation, Sea Suction Relocation, Dock Trials and Sea Trials General Vessel specifications: Length Overall 224 ft; Beam (molded) 43 ft; Propulsion Diesel Electric, Twin Screw, Cruising speed 10 Knots, Electric Service 450 VAC, 60 Hz, 3 PH, 800 Amp Service, Draft 17th, Full Load Displacement 2312 Long tons Lightship Displacement 1616 Long Tons.Additional vessel specifications of a general nature can be found at: http://www.moc.noaa.gov/ka/specs/general.htm. The vessel will be available for pre-bid inspection in Honolulu, HI September 9th & 10th, 2010. A pre-bid inspection can be arranged by contacting the Project Manager (PM) Dave Jansohn at e-mail address: Harry.d.jansohn@noaa.gov. Due to security requirements all vendors planning to attend site visit are required to sign up with PM no later than August 4, 2010. No aexceptions and no last minute allowances will be made. All responsible and fully responsive sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency. Any resulting contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price contract. Solicitation documents will be made available for download on or about August 30, 2010 at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be issued. Interested parties should use the FedBizOpps [REGISTER TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATION] and [REGISTER AS AN INTERESTED VENDOR] features which provide a notification when the IFB becomes available for download as well as all postings of information associated with this solicitation, thereafter.
