- Description
- The United States Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), in coordination with the United States Air Force 708th Nuclear Sustainment Squadron (NSUS), intends to issue a Request For Proposal (RFP), FA9422-10-R-0005, in the August 2010 timeframe, to acquire technical support services. This contract will provide logistics management to respective Department of Defense (DOD)/Department of Energy (DOE) agencies, national laboratories, and military Major Command (MAJCOM) units on all aspects of logistics support and sustainment of nuclear weapons, associated weapons systems, and equipment. The 708th NSUS is the AF focal point on all nuclear logistic deployment and sustainment issues, ensures nuclear weapons support, and delivery systems are safe, secure, and reliable. The 708th NSUS provides logistics program management of nuclear weapons programs through stockpile management, second destination transportation, weapon/component moves, tracking of automated reports and input of data into the various systems, and preparation/review of messages directing actions for the DOD. AFNWC/PKE intends to award, under full and open competition, a firm fixed price task/delivery order against a GSA schedule contract to one schedule contractor to provide logistics support and technical order management for the 708th NSUS. This notice of intent is for information purposes only, and is not a request for competitive proposals. Information herein is based on the best information available at the time of publication, is subject to revision, and is not binding on the Government. The Government will not recognize any cost associated with submission of information in response to this or previous notices.
