Description
This solicitation and any resultant contract is a stewardship project in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7. This is a commercial item acquisition that has been tailored to fit the Government's method of trading goods for services. Work includes performance of stewardship activities within the boundaries of the White River National Forest. Scope of Work - The scope of work for this Indefinite Quantity Contract is for the contractor to fell, limb, skid, deck and remove Hazard Trees within Forest Service: campgrounds, picnic areas, trails, trailheads, administrative sites; and Forest Service roads, state roads, and county roads that are within the White River National Forest. Work along road ways and in campgrounds and administrative sites may include but is not limited to: chipping, whole tree yarding, lopping and scattering slash, hand piling or machine piling, and machine trampling. One or more of these activities may be included in a task order. Removal of the bole of the tree may be required in task orders. The definition of Hazard Tree can include any sawtimber, POL and/or biomass sized tree that the FS considers to be a hazard to life, health, safety, or the environment. In addition to hazard tree treatments, the scope of work includes hazardous fuel reduction treatments such as mastication, selective slashing/thinning, fuel break construction, mechanized fuel treatments, piling (hand and machine), lop and scatter, stump grinding and chipping. One or more of these activities may be included in a task order.
