Description
***** This link contains Exhibit B, USHMM TECHNICAL BACKGROUND. ***** ***** This link contains the RFP doc itself; the full SF33. ***** The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM or "Museum") seeks to hire a vendor FIRST to study USHMM's current data storage architecture for ongoing operations including various data types, storage systems, and network topology AND THEN to conduct, complete, and present a comprehensive data storage architecture that best consolidates a dispersed storage environment, has non-disruptive scalability and serviceability, includes strategies for the long-term preservation of historical data with disaster recovery capabilities, and which addresses and establishes practical methodology for USHMM's on-going data ingestion (the "Study," which is defined in much finer detail in the attached RFP document). USHMM shall retain the sole option(s) to have Contractor provide additional support to and participate with implementation of the Study. So, in other words, USHMM is just looking for bids to draw up a new, comprehensive data storage architecture, AND NOT TO IMPLEMENT IT. Implementation timetable, methodology, and sourcing remains TBD by Museum -- of necessity, since it relies in no small part on the results of the study solicited here!
