- The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, and the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) intend to solicit for purchase of the following items: 1 each SEACAT plus Version 2 Profiler Pumped Conductivity; 1 each 600 Meter Plastic Housing; 1 each 350 Meter Strain Gauge; 1 each Stainless Steel Protective Gauge; 1 each Wet-Pluggable Connectors (MCBH); 1 each Biospherical QSP-2350L; and 1 each PAR & CTD/Carousel Integration. Specifications: The system must have the following: 1) Ease of use; 2) Highly accurate sensors; 3) Ability to interface (add as ancillary sensors) Turner Designs Phytoflash, Wet Labs fluorometers and transmissometers, and Biospherical light sensors, Aanderra Optode oxygen sensor; 4) Must be powered with alkaline batteries; 5) Capable to depths of at least 200m; 6) Sensor output from CTD at least 500 mA@10.5-11 VDC; 7) Be able to collect at least 300,000 samples of CTD data; 8) Sensor input range 0.5 VDC, and have at least 6 differential A/D channels; 9) RS-232 sensor input data channel; 10) RS-232 system interface; and 11) Must be portable, able to be lifted and deployed by average size tech-weight must not exceed 70 lbs and length+ width must not exceed 60 inches. This item is being purchased for the GLERL Lake Michigan Field Station, to be delivered to 1431 Beach Street, Muskegon, MI. The Sea-Bird 19 plus V.2 is the only conductivity, temperature, underwater irradiance and depth (CTD) data acquisition system that can meet GLERL's needs for profiling and long term deployment in harsh environments. GLERL's scientific project will require the attachments of six sensors (analog inputs) including but not limited to: Turner Designs Phytoflash fluorometers, Wet Labs transmissiometer, Aanerra Optode 3820. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the Government intends to acquire under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. The Government reserves the right to solicit bids based on the receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In order to be considered, furnish detailed information concerning their capability to provide this product.
