Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE Notice of intent to award a sole source contract to TELONICS Incorporated, 932 E. Impala Ave., Mesa, AZ. Telonics Incorporated will supply Caribou radio collars for the Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve and Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve, Alaska. (See General Description below). Under authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii), the value of the contract is expected to be under $65,000.00 The National Park Service (NPS), Alaska Regional Office requires Twenty (20) each GPS fixes with ARGOS data uplink (Model TGW-4680) Collars and Release mechanisms for collars (Model CR-2A). Specifications: Model TGW-4680 - casting for caribou - 2000 grams, 0.8 watts, 200 sec rep rate, 32 bytes, GPS - 3 locations per day starting at @ 0000 UTC, ARGOS - 6 hour on times ever 5days, - on 12 hours off 12 hours, Mortality option on at 12 hours, Total life = 59 months for GPS Total life = 67 months for VHF, Various VHF frequencies The National Park Service (NPS) requires the purchase of this particular brand of Collars because of compatibility with the collars used in existing wildlife monitoring research programs throughout the National Parks in Alaska and software developed specifically to facilitate downloading of Telonics GPS data. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals or quotations received in response to this notice. This supply will be procured under Firm Fixed Price Supply in accordance with FAR 12 procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1.
